  Chapter Two

  Katrina inhaled the salty sea breeze as cool ocean droplets dusted her hair. Lit only by the glow of the full moon, the waves shimmered as far as the eye could see. Their crashing sound against the sandy shore mingled with the call of the gulls overhead.

  Drawing a contented breath, she moved toward the inviting water.
