“Baby, do you think you can come for me like this? I want it to be good for you.” He worked his thumb over her clit harder, then dipped into her sweet pussy in time to feel her muscles clench. Ah, Jesus…
“I believe I just did,” she rushed out, her body quivering all over. Feeling the power of her orgasm filled him with warmth.
His heart slammed in his chest. “I love taking you like this. I love seeing you so aroused, and so open.”
Just then, Nicole squeezed her ass muscles and Connor threw his head back, all coherent thought forgotten as he raced to the finish line. He wanted to hang on longer, he really did, but Nicole had a way of turning him into an undisciplined teenager. Fuck, he was really going to have to work on that. Knowing he was fighting a losing battle, he gripped her hips, his fingers biting into her flesh as he released inside her.
Sated, and completely satisfied, Connor slipped his arms around her waist, pulled her from the wall and held him to her. “You’re amazing,” he whispered. Silence descended as they held each other, both lost in their own thoughts, both realizing just how deep their feelings ran, and just how much they’d given of themselves to the other.
After a long while Nicole broke the silence. There was so much emotion in her voice when she attempted to lighten the mood and said, “You’re not so bad yourself. But we might need to work on your…uh…hastiness.”
“Smart-ass.” Connor chuckled and gave her a slight tap on the ass. “Go start the tub, I’ll throw another log on the fire and meet you in there.” After she disappeared, Connor went to work on rebuilding the fire. Less than a minute later Nicole came rushing out of the bathroom, her eyes wide. But Connor didn’t have to ask what was wrong, he already felt the change in vibrations.
Nicole clutched her stomach and glanced at the cabin door. “Connor?”
“I know. Get dressed.”
Nicole rushed into the bedroom and pulled on her sweatsuit. Connor came racing in behind her. After he threw his clothes on, he gripped her shoulders. “We need to get out of here. Stay close to me, no matter what, okay?”
She nodded, but suddenly began to feel light-headed, dizzy. Nicole sank onto the bed, her mind spinning out of control as she worked diligently to focus on what Connor was saying.
“You don’t have enough control over your powers to block him, and I won’t be able to keep the portal closed myself if he possesses you. We have to keep you away from him until his time on earth is up.”
The front door of the cabin swung open and Connor lifted a hidden hatch on the floor and motioned her to climb down. The two escaped through a long narrow emergency tunnel and resurfaced in the driveway right beside his Mustang.
“Get in,” he said as he pulled open his door and jumped into the driver’s seat.
Just as Nicole reached the handle, a burst of lust swamped her, and she swallowed, trying to fight it off.
“Nicole!” she could hear Connor yelling, but her head was swimming, unable to fight her way out of the fog.
She glanced up in time to see Trent in the darkened shadows, but knew it wasn’t Trent at all. This time she could see through the facade. Beneath the light of the moon she could see the mutilated horns protruding from his deformed head. See the evil in his dark eyes and the black aura emanating off his scarred flesh. He crooked a finger and beckoned her closer.
She blinked and tried to open the car door, but her limbs felt like rubber. A moment later she seemed to be floating through time and space, and before she even realized it, she was standing before Lucifer.
“Get down on your knees before me, my pet,” he murmured, his voice like an aphrodisiacal elixir to her ears.
Unable to help herself, Nicole began to collapse, and it was as her knees buckled that she heard Connor’s voice in the far, far distance and the pounding of his footsteps on the pavement.
He catapulted himself forward and lunged at Lucifer, toppling him backward.
“Nicole, run,” he yelled as he rolled away from Lucifer, the smell of burning flesh strong in the air. As she stood there looking at Connor as he lay on the ground, angry burns materializing on his flesh, every memory of the way he’d so lovingly touched her body with his hands, his mouth and his cock, and the way he’d painstakingly taken care of her needs, engaging the lifelong emptiness inside her, filled her thoughts.
Her glances shot to Lucifer, and a surge of energy, strong and volatile, whipped through her blood, snapping her back to reality. Electrically charged air grew around her, building and growing, feeding off the rage brewing inside her.
“No,” she cried out, and stepped back, out of Lucifer’s clutches. “No,” she yelled again, and held her hands up, palms out.
“Come, my pet. No need to fight it.”
Nicole shut her eyes tight and visualized a door. She could feel it being inched open and did everything in her power to close the widening gap. She pushed on it, but wasn’t strong enough to shut it. Somewhere in the back of her mind she could hear Lucifer laughing, mocking her.
Then suddenly, deep in her haze, Connor was standing beside her, and he put his hands on the door next to her and together they pushed. Suddenly, Lucifer’s laugh changed to an angry bellow before the door slammed shut in his face.
Nicole felt herself fly backward and hit the ground. She opened her eyes to find Connor crawling toward her.
Her glance shot from left to right. “Where—”
“He’s gone,” Connor said. “Jesus, Nicole, you did it. I knew you were strong, but I had no idea just how powerful you really are.”
Connor flopped down next to her, and she reached out to touch him, to make sure he was real. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“We make one hell of a team.”
Incredulous, they both remained on the ground staring up at the night sky as they fought to catch their breath. A short while later, Nicole asked, “So, Connor, this thing between us, it’s real?”
“Yeah, baby, it’s real.”
“And it’s not just because we’re both guardians?”
“That might be what brought us together.” He tapped his chest, right around the vicinity of his heart. “But what I feel for you in here is what is going to keep us together.” When she smiled, he rolled into her and pulled her in tighter. “I’m not going anywhere, sweetheart. Besides, you need me to show you how to nurture your powers, how to control them and how to make them grow.” He leaned over her until his mouth hovered only inches from hers.
“Well, there is one small thing I’ve learned to grow,” she teased.
“Oh, yeah, do tell.”
She cupped his cock and said, “Let’s go inside. I’d rather show you instead.”
Connor’s beautiful green eyes widened in sheer delight, then moments before his lips closed down on hers, his head came back with a start and he said, “Hey, what do you mean small?”
